Duckington was a peaceful place, with many families and farms, all very happy and at home.
But there was trouble brewing in Duckington, his Highness King Beakelton had appointed four of his most trusted and treasured knights to the position of Kings Adviser. First there was Lord Alexander, the kings nephew. Secondly, there was Lord Theodore, a traveled scholar who had settled in Duckington to help teach. Thirdly was Lady Delavore, who was the first female adviser. Last, and most recently appointed was Jacapo, a very young a wild spirited man, who Lady Delavore was very cautious around.
Each Adviser had their own appointment of Knights. Lord Theodore and Lord Alexander didn't feel the need of them, and Lady Delavore had slowly been ridding herself of hers. Jacapo, on the other hand, had a growing number of them and often spent his Fridays down at the pub with them.

The sun kissed his skin. The long blades of Barley tickled his arms. His shirt and hair rustled quietly along with the wheat in the autumn breeze. His eyes were closed. He could count the hours between breaths. He heard crickets chirp and crows caw. he could see everything around him. His eyes were closed.
The auburn sky overhead began fading into a dark blue. He opened his eyes as a gust of wind excited fireflies and rushed them from the ground to the air, twirling and dancing around him. Time slowed and he blinked. The moon was fully visible, white and glowing. It was full tonight. He laid back in the warm grass. Staring up, he watched the stars twinkle and dance, mixing in with the glow of fireflies. He placed his hand on his heart and felt it beat, taking comfort in its tune.
